Using a Rich-Text Editor with Logi Info
Several Logi Info developers have asked us to enhance the product with a rich-text editor element, to be used instead of the Input Text Area element. Rich-text editors typically allow text to be formatted (bold, italic, etc.) in ways not possible with standard HTML elements. But why wait for an enhancement - why not implement one for yourself right now? You'll notice that a rich-text editor is used on DevNet now for forum posts and comments, so let's see how it was done. The TinyMCE Editor is an open source, Javascript-based editor that's perfect for the job. The first step is to download tinyMCE, extract it, and save it to a folder, such as _Scripts, within your Logi application folder. The Main tinyMCE download package is all you need to get started. Next, you'll need a configuration file. |

"Welcome to DevNet". With those words, in January 2007, we launched this web site with the goal of providing information and resources to our customers. At that time, DevNet consisted of a few samples, 50+ documents and the Discussion Forum. It's fitting that we remember the humble beginnings of this site as we launch the new DevNet. DevNet now has 3,600+ members, almost 200 documents, and nearly 50 sample apps. In terms of achieving our early goals, it's been a grand success. Now we intend to build on that success and bring you, our customers and friends, even more value and resources. Our tag line at the top if the page has changed slightly, but the central idea remains the same: we're here to help you succeed with our products. |
